About Mr. Ishwar Singh:-
"Ishwar is an alumnus of National Law School of India University, Bengaluru (B.A. LL.B, 2021). He has previously been a Law Clerk-cum-Research Associate to a Judge of the Supreme Court for two years and also been associated as a part time Judicial Assistant with the chambers of a Judge of the Karnataka High Court during his undergraduate programme. He has worked extensively on diverse matters such as Service Law, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Land Acquisition, Compensation Law, Commercial Law, Civil Procedure, Election Law, Property Law and Indirect Taxation Law. After joining Chamber 20A, he has worked on the matters focused on variety of laws including Service Law, Public Law, Sports Law, Insolvency Law, Insurance Law, Education Law and Criminal Law before the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, Rajasthan High Court and the Tribunals. He has also been involved in drafting/reviewing employment policies, commercial agreements and advising on various disputes in pre-litigation stage."
A. Insurance Law
1. Appeared before National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission as well as State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Delhi, as well as District Commissions on behalf of a leading pan national insurance company for determination of liability of insurance companies in accordance with the principles of insurance law.
2. Successfully represented an insurance company in proceedings before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission on liability of an insurance company for stolen vehicles with expired registration [IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd. v. Seuli Barman, Revision Petition No. 3724/2017].
3. Successfully represented an insurance company in proceedings before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission on the aspect of limitation prescribed under Consumer Protection Act, 1986 [Prof. (Mrs.) Nelly Rodriguez v IFFCO Tokio General Insurance Co. Ltd. Revision Petition No. 3091/2018].
4. Prepared pleadings for an insurance company in a dispute related to the determining the quantum of compensation payable under the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
B. Criminal Law
1. Drafted petitions and appeared before Supreme Court and High Court of Delhi in bail/pre-arrest cases, quashing of criminal proceedings
2. Appeared on behalf of accused in an appeal before the Delhi High Court who has been awarded conviction by trial court in an attempt to murder offense.
3. Appeared in trial courts in Delhi on behalf of private individuals in prosecuting accused for minor criminal acts.
4. Successfully represented the parents of the deceased victim in proceedings before the Supreme Court of India seeking intervention of CBI for impartial investigation in respect of an alleged extrajudicial encounter and remanded the matter before the High Court for fresh reconsideration. [Usha v Union of India Criminal Appeal No 3104 of 2023]
5. Appeared on behalf of the victim before the Rajasthan High Court in a petition seeking fair investigation and also resisted the prayer sought by the accused for quashing of criminal proceedings.
6. Part of team of lawyers who is appearing before the PMLA Appellate Tribunal in respect of release of seized properties of the accused.
C. Public Law
1. Part of team of lawyers in the Supreme Court which is challenging the constitutional validity of the guidelines issued by national regulatory body which permanently bars blood donation by homosexuals.
2. Successfully appeared for the State of Bihar and resisted the grant of interim relief in several petitions that were filed before the Supreme Court challenging the State Government’s decision to conduct a caste based survey.
3. Part of team of lawyers which is challenging the validity of administrative orders passed by a municipal authority banning consumption of non-vegetarian food in certain part of the capital city of Chandigarh.
4. Part of the team of lawyers which is challenging the cancellation of land allotted in a public auction by the Rajasthan Housing Board.
5. Part of team of lawyers which is contesting the status of regularization before the Delhi High Court on behalf of multiple employees in respect of a leading natural gas distribution company.
6. Part of team of team of lawyers which represented aggrieved employees in a contempt proceedings before the Supreme Court against the State government’s education department seeking to effectively implement the order granting regularization and consequent benefits.
7. Appeared on behalf of group of constables before the Supreme Court whose appointments have been challenged by the state government on ground of fraud and mistakes by the examination conducting authority.
D. Insolvency Law
1. Represented the Interim Resolution Professional of a Delhi based real estate company (M/s Three C Shelters Pvt. Ltd.) before Supreme Court, Delhi High Court, NCLAT, NCLT, Haryana Real Estate Authorities in a series of proceedings relating to verification of claims, collusion of parties amounting to vitiation of CIRP etc.
2. Appeared before the NCLAT and represented the interest of sugarcane farmers through the Sugarcane Department, Bihar against the liquidation of the sole sugarcane mill in 4 districts of Bihar.
3. Successfully resisted the initiation of Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process on behalf of an electronic sector company (corporate debtor) in the NCLT, NCLAT and Supreme Court.
E. Sports Law
1. Assisted in a matter before Delhi High Court challenging the functioning of National Rifle Association of India, concerning elections and compliances with National Sports and Development Code of India, 2011.
2. Assisted in representing an Indian Swimmer in anti-doping proceedings before the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel of the National Anti-Doping Agency.
3. Represented an I-League Indian football player in an eligibility dispute before the All India Football Federation Players’ Status Committee.
F. Education Law
1. Assisted in matters before the Supreme Court relating to admission and counselling processes for colleges situated in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
2. Representing three private medical colleges before the Supreme Court of India in a challenge to a notification by the National Medical Commission which sought to stipulate the fee of 50% seats in private medical institutions and deemed universities to be at par with the fees in government medical colleges of that concerned State or Union Territory.
